Rework on the concept

I hope this message finds you well. It’s been a year since House on the Hill was first conceptualized, and as I reflect on the concept, I feel both proud of what we created and excited about the possibilities that lie ahead.

After careful consideration and with a desire to push the boundaries of what we can achieve, I’ve decided to undertake a major rework of House on the Hill. While the original proof of concept laid the groundwork for an "intriguing" experience—a cabin in the woods, choices to make, an unknown intruder—the project now deserves more depth, more complexity, and a stronger emotional pull for the players.

This isn’t just about adding new mechanics or enhancing visuals, but about creating a richer and more engaging experience that goes beyond simple survival horror. I want to build something that leaves a lasting impact on the player, drawing them into a world that feels alive, where every decision matters in ways they might not even expect.

With this rework, I aim to:

  • Deepen the narrative, exploring new layers of storytelling that capture the tension, fear, and mystery of House on the Hill in a more immersive way.
  • Revamp the core mechanics to better challenge players, offering choices that lead to more meaningful consequences and heighten the emotional stakes.
  • Elevate the atmosphere, creating a sense of dread that lingers and grows, not just from the environment, but from the player’s own decisions.

I believe that by reworking the foundation of the game, we can deliver something far more dynamic, polished, and thrilling than before. I’m incredibly excited to share this new vision with you all as we move forward.

Thank you for your support, feedback, and patience as we breathe new life into House on the Hill. Together, we can create something truly special, and I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us.

Stay tuned for more updates as we dive deeper into development!

Best regards, Paahdin Creator of House on the Hill
